Joni Mitchell songs provide inspiration for baby names

The musical legacy of Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell offers a vast collection of inspiration for baby names derived from her iconic song titles and lyrics. Known for her confessional songwriting style, Mitchell’s work provides names with depth, meaning, and a timeless appeal that transcends musical genres.

Her personal history is also reflected in her music. On her 1971 album ‘Blue’, Mitchell made a reference to her daughter, Kelly Dale, whom she placed for adoption in 1965. The song ‘Little Green’ alludes to the color Kelly green. Mitchell reunited with her daughter in the 1990s, and they currently maintain a relationship.
