Jonny Clayton wins New Zealand Darts Masters title

Jonny Clayton secured his first New Zealand Darts Masters title with an 8-4 victory over Gerwyn Price in Auckland. The win marks a successful revenge for Clayton, who previously lost to Price in the 2022 final.

Clayton’s path to the championship included defeating top seed Gian van Veen and England’s James Wade. During the final, Clayton established a significant lead, aided by high checkouts including a 124 finish to seal the match. While Price attempted a comeback by winning three successive legs, he was unable to overcome the deficit.

The victory is part of the World Series of Darts regular season, which continues next with the Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong, followed by the Finals in Amsterdam in September.
