João Bosco celebrates 80th birthday with new album and tour
Brazilian singer‑songwriter João Bosco, who turns 80 on 13 July 2026, has released a new studio album that includes collaborations with MPB icons such as Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Jota Pê, Tiago Iorc and Mart’nália. Earlier in the year he completed a successful jazz tour in the United States and now returns to Brazil for a series of concerts revisiting his classic repertoire. Confirmed Brazilian dates include a show in Maceió on 12 September 2026 at the Teatro Gustavo Leite and a performance in Rio de Janeiro on 2 October 2026 at Qualistage. The release and tour mark a milestone in Bosco’s five‑decade career, which began with his 1972 debut alongside Tom Jobim and has produced more than 28 albums.
