João Fonseca withdraws from Cincinnati Masters due to abdominal pain

Brazilian tennis player João Fonseca has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Masters 1000 due to abdominal discomfort. After experiencing pain in his left abdomen during training, Fonseca and his team decided to prioritize his recovery to ensure he is ready for the upcoming US Open.

Fonseca, who had recently secured a victory against Botic van de Zandschulp in the second round, will return to Brazil to begin physiotherapy. Despite the setback, reports suggest the injury is not severe and is not expected to impact his participation in the US Open starting August 30. This withdrawal marks the third physical interruption in his season, following previous issues with his lower back and shoulder.
