João Gordo and Asteroides Trio prepare Rock in Rio tribute to Ramones

João Gordo and the Asteroides Trio are preparing a specialized performance for the Rock in Rio 2026 festival, scheduled for September 6 on the Supernova Stage. The setlist will feature a tribute to the Ramones, specifically revisiting their debut 1976 album in its entirety to mark its 50th anniversary.

The performance will blend punk with the fast-paced rockabilly sound of the Asteroides Trio, a group from Guarulhos consisting of Rodney Calfano, Claudio Formiga, and Leandro Francona. This style, described as ‘punkabilly,’ aims to maintain a chaotic and communicative atmosphere through short musical blocks interspersed with audience interaction.

In addition to the Ramones tribute, the show is expected to include original songs and classic tracks from Ratos de Porão, the band for which Gordo serves as vocalist.
