João Marinho Neto recognized as world's oldest man at 114

João Marinho Neto, a farmer from Maranguape, Ceará, has been recognized as the world's oldest man after reaching the age of 114. The recognition follows the passing of British citizen John Tinniswood, who died at 112.

Marinho Neto celebrated his birthday with family and friends in the municipality of Apuiarés. The global longevity authority LongeviQuest had previously identified him as the last living man born in 1912. His age has undergone rigorous documentary verification to secure his place in the Guinness World Records.

A large family surrounds the centenarian, including six living children, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
