João Monlevade conducts cataract surgery blitzes

The João Monlevade Health Secretariat conducted two recent medical blitzes to provide cataract surgeries for local residents. The initiative included 97 procedures performed at Hospital Nossa Senhora das Dores in São Domingos do Prata and 23 surgeries at Santa Casa de Caeté. Additionally, seven pterygium surgeries were carried out in Caeté.

Over the last five years, the municipal government has facilitated nearly two thousand cataract surgeries. The program provides comprehensive support for patients, including pre-operative exams, transportation, meals for patients and companions, and continuous monitoring throughout the process.
