João Monlevade council honors Methodist church and approves 2024 accounts unanimously

The municipal council of João Monlevade held a session on Wednesday, 8 May, during which it presented a Motion of Applause to the Methodist Church of João Monlevade. The honor recognized the church’s 90 years of service to the community, its social projects through the Methodist Association of Social Assistance, and its role in education, culture and welfare. Pastor Elisabete Altino received the motion on behalf of the congregation, with councilor Marquinho Dornelas and other officials praising the institution’s longstanding commitment.

In the same meeting, councilors voted unanimously to approve the municipality’s 2024 financial accounts as reviewed by the Minas Gerais State Court of Accounts (TCE‑MG). Councilwoman Maria do Sagrado highlighted that the audit confirmed responsible fiscal management, especially the allocation of 92.29% of FUNDEB resources to education and teacher remuneration, exceeding the required 70% threshold. The approval was presented as a testament to transparent and effective public spending in João Monlevade.
