João Moreira Salles considers minority investment in Botafogo SAF

Billionaire João Moreira Salles has expressed interest in investing in Botafogo's football corporation (SAF), though he emphasized that any participation would remain strictly minority-based.

In recent interviews, Salles clarified that he and his brother, Walter Salles, do not wish to engage in the direct management of the club, citing a lack of professional expertise in football administration. Instead, they propose a project focused on youth academy development and infrastructure, potentially through the Espaço Lonier project.

Salles noted that any potential deal would depend on the alignment of the new controller's vision with the conditions previously discussed with current owner John Textor. The proposed investment would aim to build significant infrastructure to support the club's long-term growth through education and talent formation.
