João Paulo Velasco wins PBR Brazil National Championship
João Paulo Velasco, a 21-year-old bull rider from Paranaíta, Mato Grosso, has been crowned the PBR Brazil National Champion. The title was secured during the final stage of the Professional Bull Riders competition held at the Festa do Peão de Barretos.
Velasco finished the season with 1,798 points, maintaining his lead throughout the championship. For his victory, he received a Mitsubishi Triton Katana pickup truck and R$ 200,000 in cash. His total accumulated prizes for the season reached approximately R$ 890,000. Following this achievement, Velasco will travel to the United States to compete for the Kansas City Outlaws in the PBR Team Series.
While Velasco secured the national title, Gabriel Henrique da Silva won the specific Barretos stage, finishing second in the overall national ranking. The competition concluded the 2025/2026 PBR Brazil season, marking a significant milestone for the young athlete.
