João Pessoa City Hall launches guide for 2026 election conduct

The City Hall of João Pessoa has launched the ‘Cartilha de Condutas Vedadas 2026’ (2026 Prohibited Conducts Guide) to guide public agents through the upcoming general elections. The manual serves as a practical guide for civil servants and public officials, outlining legal prohibitions and recommended precautions to ensure transparency, legality, and fairness in administrative actions.

Presented by Mayor Leo Bezerra and Attorney General Bruno Nóbrega, the initiative aims to prevent the use of the public machine to favor specific candidacies. Although the 2026 elections focus on state and federal levels, the guide notes that federal Law No. 9,504/1997 imposes restrictions that affect municipal administration to ensure equal opportunities for all candidates.
