João Pessoa Civil Guard Holds Over 300 Lost Documents for Residents
More than 300 personal documents—including identity cards, driver’s licenses, CPF numbers, work permits and bank cards—are being stored at the Guarda Civil Metropolitana headquarters in João Pessoa, Brazil, awaiting their owners. The lost‑and‑found service, coordinated by the Secretaria de Segurança Urbana e Cidadania, receives new items daily, catalogues them and keeps them until claimants are identified.
Residents are urged to check the service via WhatsApp (83 3213‑7202) or the Disque 153 hotline before applying for duplicate documents. Retrieval requires a police report and a photo‑ID. The guard also holds personal items such as bags, backpacks and helmets, and the service is offered free of charge to help citizens avoid unnecessary expenses and to return belongings to their rightful owners.
