João Pessoa cooking gas prices fluctuate following 7% increase

A price survey conducted by Procon-JP in João Pessoa reveals that 13kg cooking gas cylinders are currently priced between R$ 105 and R$ 130 for cash payments. The study, which surveyed 31 establishments across 32 neighborhoods, found an average price of R$ 117.10, representing a 23.81% variation between the highest and lowest prices.

For credit card transactions, prices range from R$ 110 to R$ 134. Additionally, the survey tracked the cost of complete units (cylinder plus gas), with cash prices ranging from R$ 235 to R$ 330, and card prices between R$ 259 and R$ 350.

The price fluctuation follows a 7% increase implemented on the 15th. According to the Syndicate of GLP Gas Resellers of Paraíba (Sinregás-PB), this adjustment is due to the passing on of costs related to category salary agreements, raw materials, and federal taxes.
