João Pessoa implements teacher training for neurodivergent inclusion
The João Pessoa Secretariat of Education and Culture (Sedec-JP) is conducting specialized training for physical education teachers in Middle School (Ensino Fundamental II). In partnership with the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), the initiative focuses on inclusive education and collective planning.
The training sessions address contemporary themes such as neurodiversity in the classroom, learning strategies, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The program aims to clarify the roles of caregivers, school supporters, and Specialized Educational Service (AEE) teachers in supporting students with disabilities.
Additionally, UFPB is offering 60 free specialization vacancies in early years teaching for municipal education professionals through the Open University of Brazil (UAB) program. Applications are open from October 26 to 30, with specific quotas reserved for affirmative action groups, including Black, Indigenous, and people with disabilities.
