Samu de João Pessoa trains 75 early‑childhood staff in first‑aid
The Mobile Emergency Service of João Pessoa (Samu‑JP), through its Permanent Education Nucleus (NEP), held a first‑aid training on Friday, 31 May, at the Municipal Administrative Center (CAM) auditorium in Água Fria. The session targeted staff from three municipal early‑education centers – CMEI Maria da Luz, CMEI Diotilia Guedes and CMEI Ricardo Brindeiro – with a total of 75 professionals participating.
The curriculum covered cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults, children and infants, choking, fainting, seizures, intoxication, burns and other emergency procedures. Participants were reminded that the training fulfills the requirements of Brazil’s Lei Lucas (Federal Law 13.722/2018), which mandates basic first‑aid instruction for teachers and staff in schools and childcare facilities. Kalyne Gomes, manager of CMEI Ricardo Brindeiro, said the training “helps educators feel more prepared and confident when emergencies arise.” Nurse Ricardo Leite, coordinator of the NEP, emphasized the importance of equipping public‑school personnel with these lifesaving skills.
