João Pessoa municipality advances infrastructure repairs, pension certification and event plans

The João Pessoa city government announced a series of actions across several sectors. The Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) continued its daily “tapa‑buraco” operation on 30 July, carrying out pothole repairs, drainage cleaning and public‑lighting maintenance in 51 neighbourhoods, with requests handled through the free “João Pessoa na Palma da Mão” app. The Institute of Municipal Pension (IPM‑JP) received a renewed Certificado de Regularidade Previdenciária (CRP), valid until January 2027, allowing the municipality to receive federal loans, grants and contracts. The municipal language centre (Celest) opened a beginner Libras course for tourism workers, offering 25 slots starting 12 August. Preparations are under way for the 6th International Marathon of João Pessoa, with the Convention Centre transformed into a race arena for 1‑2 August. For the Festa das Neves celebrations (30 July‑5 August), the Superintendency of Urban Mobility (Semob‑JP) deployed 100 mobility agents, added extra bus services and set up traffic blocks around the event sites to ensure safety and fluid traffic flow.
