The City Hall of João Pessoa, through the Secretariat of Education and Culture (Sedec), is increasing investments in educational technology to promote digital literacy among students and educators. The initiative aims to democratize access to the digital environment and prepare the municipal school network for the demands of a connected society.

Building on the remote learning experiences established during the Covid-19 pandemic, the city has consolidated a permanent educational technology policy. This program includes the distribution of Chromebooks and tablets, the implementation of Google Classrooms and Maker Spaces, and specialized training for teachers. The integration of Google for Education began in 2021 and has since expanded to include modern physical structures and digital tools.
