João Pessoa expands road repairs, women’s entrepreneurship program, cultural festival and vehicle auction

The municipality of João Pessoa announced that its daily “tapa‑buraco” operation will continue on Thursday, targeting pothole repairs, drainage and street‑lighting maintenance in 51 neighborhoods across the city. Residents can request services through the free “João Pessoa na Palma da Mão” app.

The city’s Secretariat of Economic Development and Work extended the deadline for the “Elas Lideram” program to 24 July, keeping 70 slots open for women (cis or trans) who own or wish to start a business. The free program offers training, mentoring, and access to the “Eu Posso” micro‑credit line.

The annual São João Multicultural festival received an 83 % approval rating, with 86 % of attendees saying they will return. The event generated an estimated R$ 4.78 million in economic activity and attracted visitors from 24 Brazilian states.

The Urban Mobility Superintendency will hold an online vehicle auction on 28 July, offering 368 cars, trucks and motorcycles with opening bids of R$ 100. All vehicles were inspected; those with judicial restrictions were excluded.
