João Pessoa extends Festa das Neves to Sunday

Mayor Leo Bezerra and Urban Development Secretary Marmuthe Cavalcanti announced the re‑issuance of Public Call No. 013/2026, extending the operation of amusement rides and the activity of informal vendors in Parque Solon de Lucena until Sunday, 9 August. The official notice is expected in the municipal gazette on Thursday, 6 August. A total of 235 vendor slots have been allocated for the park, which hosts seven amusement attractions with a flat fee of R$ 10 per ride. The extension follows popular demand and coincides with João Pessoa’s 441st anniversary, featuring musical performances by the Banda 5 de Agosto, the municipal dance company, and shows by Fábio Junior and Roupa Nova. Both officials highlighted the measure as support for local informal commerce and a boost to the city’s economy.
