João Pessoa implements new housing and infrastructure projects

The municipal government of João Pessoa is implementing several urban and social initiatives. Mayor Leo Bezerra signed a contract for 400 new housing units in the Cristo neighborhood under the Minha Casa Minha Vida program, part of a broader housing strategy that includes home renovations and land regularization.

Infrastructure efforts are also underway, with the Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) conducting road maintenance, pothole repairs, and public lighting services across dozens of neighborhoods. Additionally, the city is conducting social outreach, including the ‘Caravana do Cuidar’ for the homeless population and ‘Agosto Lilás’ programs to combat violence against women.

Other municipal activities include cultural representation at national meetings in Brasília, robotics competitions for local students, and specialized training for tourism guides.
