João Pessoa Disburses R$3.2 Million for Aldir Blanc Cultural Grants
The João Pessoa municipal cultural foundation (Funjope) completed payments for the first three editals of the National Aldir Blanc Policy (PNAB) on 22 July, totaling R$3.175 million. The editals covered the “Mestre Zumbi Bahia” popular cultures prize, project funding for cultural initiatives, and subsidies for cultural spaces, environments and projects.
Director of Funjope Marcus Alves said the city aims to honor its commitment to the federal cultural program and highlighted João Pessoa’s role as a national reference for the Aldir Blanc and Paulo Gustavo laws. Payments began on 20 July for the prize winners, continued on 21 July for project funding recipients, and concluded on 22 July for space subsidies. The funds combine federal allocations with municipal resources, ensuring that grant money is used solely for cultural development and not for festive activities.
The disbursement reflects the municipality’s ongoing partnership with the Ministry of Culture to support local artists and cultural infrastructure.
