João Pessoa carries out citywide pothole‑repair operation

The João Pessoa municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) carried out a “tapa‑buraco” (pothole‑repair) operation across the city in early September. On September 9‑10 the work covered 38‑41 neighborhoods, including Tambaú, José Américo, Centro, Mangabeira, Ernesto Geisel, Jardim Cidade Universitária, Bairro das Indústrias, and many others. The effort, undertaken by the Directorate of Road and Drainage Maintenance, involved filling potholes, cleaning and clearing storm‑drain galleries, extending drainage networks, and repairing manhole covers to reduce flooding during the winter season.

Citizens can request road‑maintenance services, street‑lighting repairs, and drainage work through the municipal app “João Pessoa na Palma da Mão”, which allows residents to submit demands digitally without leaving home.
