João Pessoa police arrest suspect in hostage robbery case

A suspect has been arrested in João Pessoa for involvement in a robbery where a family was held hostage at a residence in the Seixas beach area. According to the Civil Police, the individual was identified as a direct beneficiary of funds transferred by the victims during the crime.

The investigation, led by Delegate Gabriel da Rocha, revealed that the criminal group involved in the incident caused losses exceeding R$ 50,000. This arrest is part of a broader operation targeting a group suspected of multiple residential robberies in the capital. To date, 10 people have been arrested in connection with this investigation, which includes actions in the Mangabeira and Gramame neighborhoods.

The group is also linked to a robbery at a gas depot where a police officer's weapon was stolen. Authorities are continuing to investigate the group's activities and are searching for two remaining suspects who are currently at large.
