João Pessoa police investigate murder of delivery rider

Police in João Pessoa are investigating the torture and murder of 23-year-old delivery rider Erick Santos. Authorities believe the crime was motivated by jealousy involving the victim's ex-partner.

According to the Civil Police, a suspect was arrested after allegedly luring the victim to a residence. The suspect, who is part of a criminal faction, reportedly confessed to carrying out a “disciplina” (discipline) against Santos due to a suspected relationship between the victim and the suspect's current girlfriend.

Necropsy results from the Institute of Scientific Police of Paraíba (IPC-PB) revealed that the victim was stabbed more than 50 times. Santos had been missing since August 25, and his body was discovered on August 29 in a wooded area in the Padre Zé neighborhood. Investigations are ongoing to identify other potential accomplices.
