João Pessoa launches free running‑coaching program ahead of marathon
The Prefeitura Municipal de João Pessoa, through the Secretaria de Juventude, Esporte e Recreação (Sejer), has opened the “Projeto Assessoria de Corrida”. The free program operates from three poles in the neighborhoods of Cabo Branco, Bessa and Bancários and offers personalized training plans, physical‑condition evaluations, injury‑prevention guidance and paced‑running instruction. It is aimed at professional athletes, amateur runners and sedentary residents who wish to adopt an active lifestyle.
The initiative is timed for the upcoming Circuit das Estações on 19 July and the International Marathon of João Pessoa slated for early August, an event that is part of the Circuito Brasil Gigante. Since its launch in 2021, the project serves roughly a thousand participants each month, reinforcing preventive health, social inclusion and municipal commitment to sport.
