João Pessoa implements infrastructure, housing, and social programs
The City of João Pessoa is implementing several municipal initiatives across various sectors. The Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) has launched a pothole repair operation covering 52 neighborhoods to improve road safety. Additionally, Samae is conducting asphalt recovery on Rua Alberto Muller as part of a major water supply modernization project involving the installation of new pipelines.
In social and housing sectors, the municipal government has secured approval for 400 new homes in the Gramame neighborhood through the ‘Minha Casa, Minha Vida’ program, representing a R$ 68 million investment. Social programs are also active, including the ‘Futebol que Transforma’ project, which uses sports to support people experiencing homelessness, and the ‘Caravana do Cuidar’ initiative providing essential services to vulnerable populations.
Educational and cultural activities include the ProLEEI teacher training program focused on literacy and the ‘Raízes do Brasil’ festival, which celebrated Brazilian folklore with approximately 900 students from the municipal school network.
