João Pessoa resumes medical specialty appointments for LGBTQIA+ community

The João Pessoa City Hall, through its LGBT Citizenship Promotion Coordination, has resumed scheduling medical specialty appointments for the LGBTQIA+ population this August.

Available specialties include gynecology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and dentistry. Appointments must be scheduled in person at the LGBT Coordination headquarters in downtown João Pessoa between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM. Required documentation includes an ID, CPF, SUS card, and proof of residence.

Medical services for gynecology, endocrinology, and gastroenterology are provided at the Centro de Atenção Integrada de Saúde (Cais) in Jaguaribe through a partnership with the Faculdade de Medicina Nova Esperança (Famene). Dental services are conducted at Unipê in collaboration with its dentistry program. Coordinator Geraldo Filho emphasized that these partnerships are vital for ensuring healthcare access for a historically marginalized community.
