The Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) of João Pessoa has advanced integrated security planning for the 2026 elections. A technical team from the Municipal Urban Security and Citizenship Secretariat (Semusb) met with representatives from the Regional Electoral Court of Paraíba (TRE-PB) to align strategies for voting days.

The cooperation focuses on the patrimonial monitoring of public buildings used as polling stations and the surveillance of surrounding areas via the Smart City video monitoring system. According to Secretary João Almeida, the initiative will utilize 9,000 cameras to enhance organization and security during both the first and second rounds of the election.

This partnership was formalized through a Technical Cooperation Agreement signed on September 8, allowing for the sharing of monitoring system images between the municipality and the electoral court.
