João Pessoa showcases digital city forum and nature‑focused architecture summit
On Thursday, 9 May, João Pessoa hosted the second edition of the Forum of Digital and Smart Cities, gathering more than 50 municipal leaders, public officials and specialists at the state Court of Accounts auditorium. Organized by the Digital City Network and the city’s Municipal IT Unit, the event highlighted the strategic use of technology—such as artificial intelligence, system integration and data‑driven services—to improve public administration, education, animal welfare and overall urban efficiency. Participants also honored innovators with the "Prefeito Inovador 2026" award.
Later the same day, Setai Grupo GP held a talk titled “Nature Integrated into Urban Buildings,” drawing around 350 real‑estate brokers. CEOs and architects discussed bio‑filic design inspired by Milan’s Bosco Verticale, emphasizing how green façades, active streetscapes and plant‑rich environments are reshaping João Pessoa’s architecture and improving residents’ wellbeing. The discussion underscored the city’s growing reputation as a national reference for sustainable, nature‑centric urban projects.
