João Pessoa implements labor observatory and agricultural support programs
The City Hall of João Pessoa is implementing several initiatives to support local economic development and social organization.
The municipal government is advancing the structure of the João Pessoa Labor Observatory. This initiative aims to analyze the local labor market to provide data that supports job creation, income generation, and professional qualification. The observatory will feature a tripartite committee composed of representatives from the government, workers, and employers, with the official inauguration of the committee members expected on October 7.
In support of local producers, the ‘Eu Posso Semear’ program and various mobile fairs are facilitating the sale of agroecological products. These initiatives, managed by the Secretariat of Economic Development and Labor (Sedest), provide technical assistance, seeds, and soil preparation services to small-scale family farmers to strengthen local production and income.
Additionally, the Secretariat of Urban Development (Sedurb) has issued a call for the 2026 registration update for graves, mausoleums, and plots in municipal cemeteries. The process will be conducted gradually across several municipal cemeteries, with residents encouraged to use the ‘João Pessoa na Palma da Mão’ mobile application to complete the updates.
