João Victor Batista Pinheiro dies during aesthetic procedure in Fortaleza
João Victor Batista Pinheiro, the 45-year-old CEO of the pyrotechnics company Casa de Fogos São João, died during a face-lifting procedure at the Espaço Michele França clinic in Fortaleza, Brazil.
The incident occurred on a Tuesday afternoon in the Meireles neighborhood. During the procedure, the businessman reportedly experienced severe complications, including the appearance of pink foam at his mouth. Despite medical staff performing seven resuscitation attempts, he was pronounced dead at 12:52 p.m.
Documentation indicates that Pinheiro had a history of hypertension and was administered a combination of five anesthetic substances: midazolam, fentanyl, ketamine, lidocaine, and propofol. The Civil Police of Ceará and the State Forensic Science Service (Pefoce) are investigating the circumstances of the death. The clinic's defense has stated they are cooperating with authorities and have contested certain reported details, noting that Pinheiro had been a client of the clinic for two years.
