Joost Niemöller has stepped down as editor-in-chief of the broadcaster Ongehoord Nederland (ON!) with immediate effect. Peter Vlemmix, director of ON!, stated that the departure is due to a difference of opinion regarding the broadcaster’s editorial direction and recent programming.

The exit follows a period of controversy for the outlet, including an online broadcast that referenced Adolf Hitler and the removal of the program ‘Let’s Twist Again’ following public criticism.

In related political developments, Mo Mohandis of the PRO party has questioned the minister regarding the potential removal of ON! from the airwaves. The minister indicated that such a decision is still several procedural steps away.
