JOPDF launches free full‑featured cross‑platform PDF editor

JOPDF, a proprietary desktop application, is now available for Linux, Windows and macOS at no cost. The software lets users edit existing text, images and links inside PDF files, adjust fonts and colors, and add annotations, comments, stamps, form fields and electronic signatures. It also supports conversion of PDFs to Microsoft Word and conversion of common image formats (JPG, PNG, HEIC) to PDFs, as well as compression, merging, splitting, rotating and rearranging pages through a drag‑and‑drop interface. All processing is performed locally, allowing offline use, though some features may still require an internet connection. JOPDF is distributed as DEB packages for AMD64 and ARM64 Linux systems and is also available for Arch Linux via the AUR, with comparable installers for Windows and macOS. While the application is free of subscription fees, watermarks and trial limits, its license restricts modification, redistribution, reverse‑engineering and decompilation, meaning it is not open‑source.
