Jordan and Algeria to clash in World Cup 2026 Group J

Jordan and Algeria will meet in the second round of Group J at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match is scheduled for the morning of 23 June at Levi's Stadium in California and will be broadcast live.

Both sides are seeking their first points; Jordan lost 1‑3 to Austria, Algeria 0‑3 to Argentina in their opening games. Coaches Jamal Sellami (Jordan) and Vladimir Petkovic (Algeria) have named line‑ups, with Jordan’s Ali Olwan and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez among the attackers. Luca Zidane is listed as Algeria’s goalkeeper.

Romanian referee Istvan Kovács has been appointed to officiate the simultaneous Jordan‑Argentina group match at AT&T Stadium in Texas, assisted by Mihai Marica and Ferencz Tunyogi, with additional officials named by FIFA. Kovács faced criticism from Asian fans after a previous Japan‑Netherlands game.
