Jordan and France discuss strengthening parliamentary and economic ties
A French parliamentary delegation from the National Assembly met with Jordanian officials, including Speaker of the House Mazen Al-Qadi and the head of the Jordanian-French Parliamentary Friendship Association, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties.
The discussions focused on enhancing parliamentary diplomacy, exchanging legislative and oversight expertise, and expanding strategic cooperation. Key areas of interest for Jordan include information technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and leveraging French expertise in the startup and SME sectors.
Economic cooperation was a central theme, with emphasis placed on increasing trade and connecting the Jordanian Business Association with the French business community. Specific sectors highlighted for investment include pharmaceuticals and water security, particularly regarding Jordan’s national water projects. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to regional stability and the pursuit of a Palestinian state.
