Jordan approves new technical schools and launches free school transport

The Jordanian Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, has approved the construction of five new technical schools at a cost of approximately 25 million dinars. This initiative aims to expand vocational education and address challenges related to rented buildings and dual-shift school systems. These new facilities join 86 other schools established across the kingdom within the last year.

Simultaneously, the first phase of a national free school transport project has launched in the Southern Badia region. The two-year project, valued at 5 million dinars, currently serves 61 schools and approximately 9,000 students using 120 buses. Investment Minister Tariq Abu Ghazaleh conducted field visits in the Al-Quwayra district to monitor bus routes, safety measures, and adherence to schedules.

Additionally, the government approved a school nutrition program for the 2026–2030 period, intended to benefit roughly 500,000 students. The transport project is designed to improve educational quality and reduce dropout rates by providing safe, reliable access to schools, particularly in geographically challenging areas.
