Marine Le Pen launches 2027 presidential campaign in Orléans

Marine Le Pen has officially launched her campaign for the 2027 French presidential election during a National Rally (RN) congress in Orléans. Centering her platform on a theme of national “renaissance,” Le Pen pledged to restore state authority, security, and the rule of law amidst ongoing social and economic discontent in France.

Her campaign promises include stricter immigration controls, the automatic deportation of foreign criminals, and the incorporation of the principle of a “national community” into the French Constitution. She also vowed to prevent French youth from being sent to foreign wars.

The congress also saw the re-election of Jordan Bardella as president of the National Rally, receiving approximately 98.98% of the vote. The party is reportedly pursuing a strategic “winning ticket” approach, with Le Pen aiming for the presidency and Bardella positioned as a potential Prime Minister to lead a government of national unity.

Recent polling indicates Le Pen holds a significant lead with 32–33.5% of voter intention, compared to 17% for Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The political event took place under heavy security due to large-scale anti-fascist demonstrations in Orléans, where authorities reported between 11,000 and 26,000 protesters.
