Jordan Barrera ruled out for Botafogo for the remainder of 2026
Colombian attacker Jordan Barrera will not play for Botafogo again in 2026 following a severe multiligament injury to his left ankle. The injury occurred during a Campeonato Brasileiro match against Fluminense on August 8.
Botafogo's medical department is currently evaluating whether surgery is required. Football director Léo Coelho noted that complications in performing detailed exams have arisen because the player is allergic to certain medications, causing significant swelling in the affected area.
Barrera's absence adds to a growing list of unavailable players for the club, which includes Danilo Santos, Anthony, Lucas Monzon, and Warleson. Coach Rodrigo Bellão faces a depleted squad as the team, currently in 11th place, prepares for upcoming matches including a fixture against Flamengo.
