Jordan Brand to release Air Jordan 5 ‘Black Cat’ in Fall 2027

Jordan Brand is scheduled to release the Air Jordan 5 ‘Black Cat’ in Fall 2027. This release follows a previously planned 2024 launch that was ultimately scrapped.

The sneaker will feature a predominantly black nubuck upper, maintaining the stealthy aesthetic associated with Michael Jordan’s ‘Black Cat’ nickname. Design updates for this version include the return of the ‘23’ on the lateral side using the original-style font, and the expected use of Nike Air branding on the heels instead of the Jumpman logo. The silhouette is also expected to be closer to the original Air Jordan 5 mold.

The shoe is slated to retail for $220 and will be available in full-family sizing through select retailers and online platforms.
