Jordan Burton convicted of murder following 2006 Lewisham attack
Jordan Burton, 33, has been found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey following an attack that occurred 15 years ago in Lewisham, south-east London. Burton was 14 years old at the time of the September 2006 incident, when he and a group of youths assaulted 16-year-old Daniel Allright.
During the attack, Allright was struck over the head with a piece of wood, an advertising board, and a bicycle chain. The assault caused significant brain bleeding and required a craniotomy. Following the incident, Allright developed post-traumatic epilepsy and suffered his first seizure in March 2007.
Allright died at his home in March 2022 at the age of 31 after suffering a fatal epileptic seizure. A post-mortem examination determined that post-traumatic epilepsy was the cause of death. While Burton had previously pleaded guilty to violent disorder and unlawful wounding in 2008, he was charged with murder in October last year. He is expected to be sentenced by Judge Anthony Leonard KC.
