Jordan Chiles announces 2028 Olympic comeback and UCLA coaching role
Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles has announced her intention to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The 25-year-old gymnast revealed her comeback via a cinematic social media video narrated by NBA legend Michael Jordan.
Chiles, a two-time Olympian and former UCLA standout, joins several teammates, including Suni Lee and Jade Carey, who have also declared their intent to return for the LA Games. Her announcement comes as she continues to appeal a controversial decision regarding her 2024 Paris Olympics floor exercise bronze medal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
In addition to her competitive comeback, Chiles is returning to UCLA in a new capacity. She has been named a student coach for the gymnastics program starting in the 2027 season. While managing her coaching role and academic requirements in African American Studies, she is also participating in the television program ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
