Jordan Cox credits Virat Kohli for guidance ahead of England Test series

England batter Jordan Cox has credited advice from Indian superstar Virat Kohli for helping him prepare for his role in Test cricket. The two developed a bond while playing together for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League.

Cox, who is set to bat at number three against Pakistan at Headingley following an injury to Jacob Bethell, noted that Kohli provided perspective during challenging periods. Kohli reportedly encouraged Cox to “enjoy the moment” and “have fun” during his debut, emphasizing that players should maintain a balance between on-field aggression and being a “great bloke” off the field.

Cox previously made a Test debut in June against New Zealand at number seven, and he is now stepping into a top-order position as part of a reshaped England squad.
