Jordan expands evening health‑center shifts; Egypt tightens health‑unit inspections

Jordan's Ministry of Health extended its evening‑shift programme to five comprehensive health centres in Zarqa province. Since the start of May, the centres have seen about 700 patients each evening and have helped cut emergency‑department visits by 26 % at Zarqa Hospital and 42 % at Prince Faisal Hospital, easing crowding and allowing hospitals to focus on critical cases.

In Egypt, the Beni Suef health directorate carried out intensive field inspections of several health units, including Shereef Basha, Naeem and Abu Selim. Guided by Deputy Health Minister Hani Jumaa, the teams checked staffing, drug and equipment supplies, and compliance with quality and governance standards, aiming to sustain round‑the‑clock medical services for residents.
