Jordan Firstman's 'Club Kid' receives critical acclaim

Jordan Firstman’s directorial debut, ‘Club Kid’, has earned widespread critical acclaim following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, which Firstman also wrote and stars in, currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Set against the backdrop of the New York City underground club scene, the story follows Peter, a hard-partying promoter whose life is disrupted by the sudden arrival of Arlo, a 10-year-old boy he never knew he had. Critics have praised the film for its unapologetic queer perspective, its blend of raucous comedy and emotional depth, and Firstman’s performance.

A24 acquired the global rights to the film for $17 million following a bidding war at Cannes. The movie is scheduled for limited theatrical release on November 6.
