Jordan Hermann equals ODI debut world record in South Africa win

South Africa's Jordan Hermann equalled the world record for the highest individual score on a men's One Day International (ODI) debut, scoring 150 runs against Namibia in Windhoek. The 24-year-old left-handed opener reached the milestone in 126 balls, featuring 17 fours and three sixes. His performance matched the record previously set by teammate Matthew Breetzke in February 2025.

Hermann shared a 190-run partnership for the second wicket with Tony de Zorzi, who contributed 72 runs. These efforts helped South Africa reach a total of 348-6 in their 50 overs.

In response, Namibia's chase was hampered by two rain interruptions. Following the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, Namibia was set a revised target of 301 runs from 38 overs. They reached 162-8 in 31 overs before the match concluded, resulting in a 99-run victory for South Africa and a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
