Jordan Hosts Arab Foreign Ministers Meeting on Jerusalem

Foreign ministers from Jordan, the Arab League and several Muslim-majority states met in Amman to coordinate a joint response to Israeli actions in Jerusalem. Participants included Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Al‑Safadi, Arab League Secretary‑General Nabil Fahmi, Palestinian Foreign Minister Farseen Agabkyan Shahin, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel‑Ati and ministers from Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey and Malaysia.

The ministers condemned what they described as illegal Israeli policies targeting holy sites and called for an international mechanism to document violations, a media platform, and a follow‑up high‑level meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League at the United Nations General Assembly in September. They urged a collective rescue plan to protect Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian heritage and to halt further settlement and demolition activities.
