Jordan industrial exports grow 8.9% in first half of year
Jordanian industrial exports grew by 8.9% during the first half of the year, reaching 4.4 billion dinars compared to 4 billion dinars during the same period last year. Data from the Jordan Chamber of Industry’s Department of Policies and Studies indicates an increase of approximately 400 million dinars.
The chemical and cosmetics sector saw the highest value increase, rising by 11.4% to reach 1.042 billion dinars. Other notable growth areas included the construction sector, which grew by 82.1%, mining industries with a 10.6% increase, and engineering, electrical, and IT industries with a 7.1% rise.
Export destinations also expanded significantly. Exports to China increased by 70% (82 million dinars), exports to Switzerland surged by 204% (80 million dinars), and exports to Iraq rose by 73 million dinars.
