Jordan Kenney sentenced to prison for crash that killed 13‑year‑old Mia Rossiter in Victoria

Jordan Kenney, a 31‑year‑old repeat offender, was sentenced by County Court Judge Michael Tinney after pleading guilty to culpable driving causing death, serious injury and conduct endangering life. The crash occurred on 3 January 2024 near Stonehaven, close to Geelong, when Kenney, under the influence of the drug GHB, crossed onto the wrong side of the road and struck the Rossiter family car. Thirteen‑year‑old Mia Rossiter was killed; her father Paul Rossiter, mother Danica Rossiter and younger sister suffered serious injuries. Tinney described Kenney’s conduct as “totally avoidable” and “manic”, recalling video footage in which the driver boasted he was “the best f***ing designated drunk driver in the world”. Kenney had previously been wearing an ankle bracelet after a prior dangerous‑driving conviction.
