Jordan Lyle charged with felony fleeing and reckless driving
University of Miami running back Jordan Lyle has been charged with a felony count of fleeing or eluding law enforcement and a misdemeanor count of reckless driving. The charges stem from an incident in Sunrise, Florida, on July 10, where police allege Lyle willfully attempted to elude a marked vehicle with its emergency lights and siren activated.
According to the Broward County state attorney’s office, Lyle voluntarily surrendered to police on a Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued the previous day. He has since been released after posting bond. The University of Miami acknowledged the incident involving the student-athlete but declined further comment, citing the ongoing legal matter.
Lyle, 20, is entering his junior season and was expected to compete for a significant role in the Hurricanes’ backfield.
