Jordan Nobbs targets Women’s Super League promotion with Newcastle

Jordan Nobbs has stated that helping Newcastle United Women achieve promotion to the Women’s Super League would represent the completion of her career, calling the achievement “job done.” The midfielder, a former Arsenal player with 71 England caps, expressed that bringing a club from the North East into the top flight carries significant personal and regional importance.

Following a sixth-place finish in the WSL2 during the 2025–26 season, Newcastle has actively strengthened its squad for the upcoming campaign. Recent signings include Martha Thomas from Tottenham, as well as Leanne Kiernan and Gemma Evans from Liverpool. Nobbs noted that the squad is focused on avoiding the high number of draws that hindered their progress last season and is working under manager Tanya Oxtoby to secure promotion.
